Corpses

#1

Corpse on couch
Devoured by maggots

Portrait on coffee table
Beautiful young woman

Erosion of two lives
One, the survivor of love.

#2

I time travel
Every day.
It might be a book, music, a film
The sight of an old house...
All of a sudden a fog of memories, real and imagined, engulfs me.
I'm neither here nor there.
I reach out to the one I've just fallen for,
But all I feel is bones.
All I smell is the rancid odor of a corpse.
...
Each wonderful journey through time
Leaves me breathless, shaken,
Crying without tears.
There's only one place I can be whole,
And that's in my dreams.

#3

Your body ages,
but you don't grow old.
You grow trapped, eventually inside a corpse.
